Austin Dewar is a freelance writer, editor, and story coach.
He is an avid fan of short stories and speculative fiction, and serves as a fiction editor for Strange Horizons. He previously volunteered as a submissions reader for both Strange Horizons and Flash Fiction Online.
As a story coach, Austin loves helping aspiring indie authors develop the necessary skills and confidence to craft compelling stories. He draws on a background in education and mindfulness practice to create a highly personalized and accommodating learning experience for up-and-coming writers.
His own work has appeared in Strange Horizons, Hampshire College’s The Reader, and the Poetry Society of Texas’ Book of the Year. He also writes and edits articles, newsletters, and training manuals for nonprofit organizations and small businesses.
